Skanky Belves

Old sketch I did of my blood elf priestess, (in thigh-high boots and a red body-thing) with my paladin-friend Lorn. Exactly why she ended up in only a tabard, I'm a bit unsure of. Why I never finished her big-ass axe is also a mystery. Kind of doubt that this'll ever evolve into more than a sketch with the cheesiest wow-pickupline ever.

Rankwatch

MMO-Champ mentioned the addon Rankwatch the other day - it whispers people when they're not using the top rank of their spells, simply put. Curious that I am, I decided to test it out - I know I'm one of those people who has run around with a rank 2 penance when I should be using rank 4, (Thank you, Arach, for pointing it out and making properly fun of me. I'll get you back, yet.) due to duelspec-leveling, after all. Having an addon that tells me to stop riding the failtrain sounds smart, right? Right!

A week later I've made a horrid discovery: in almost every PUG I've done, I've encountered at least one person who's using a low-rank spell, everything from Inner Fire to Fireblast. It's worse while you're leveling, but that's sort of expected. Some people are too broke, didn't make it to town before the instance, and so on. But when you're sporting 4p T9, you really should be using the top ranks of your damage-spells, should you not?

Either way, I'm kinda stomped about how to approach this issue. I kind of want to point it out to some of them, but people in general don't react very well to some strange priest pointing out their mistakes, no matter how nice she tries to go about it. If they're on my server, rankwatch deals with it with automatic whispers, but it can't seem to get through to the guys from the other servers. Luckily (?) for me, I have a rogue that doesn't hold back. He takes great joy in telling people this, which leaves me slightly apprehensive about their reaction, but ultimately happier.

So please, people out there - check your ranks. Or have an addon do it for you. I don't want to meet another shadowpriest buffing with rank 1 Prayer of Fortitude.

Whooboy

Only a little bit more until the next ICC-wing is out. I can't wait.

So my raidgroup needs me available for shadow...

Shadow. What's the deal? HOW does one shadow? I have a vague understanding of very vague things. It goes something along the lines of "hurt stuff, yay, win", but honestly, I haven't played for that side since vanilla, not really. (Flirting with said side does not count!)

I...need to live on forums for a few days. I think.

Wow, this is alien stuff.

Victory!

So, this monday, we finally did it.

Anub is dead, our tanks got fancy loot and I managed to steal one trophy for myself.

It was actually suprisingly easy the moment we realized having three healers were kinda..silly. A few tries with proper tactics later, and down he went. We ran with the combo of a holy pally on the tanks, and myself on the rest. (If you have to ask what spec I was, you haven't read this blog enough.) It'll be fun to see how it goes when the holypriest gets to try it.

So now we'll work on getting him down on fewer tries, and we'll start up with my favorite project again: Algalon.

Midnight Update!*

We're so close on Anub right now, I can almost taste it. Just a few more details, and we'll have that insect. It's a fun fight, and I love the challenge of p3. Not Healing Too Much sort of goes against the instincts of most healers I know, so it's...well. Fun, odd, different, extremely frustrating and pretty rewarding. (Hey, we've been through this, we can all get a bit tired of the healy ways every now and then.) We'll continue working on wednesday, if all our raiders can make it. Between broke people, busy people and moving people we're kinda short on dps these days.

I'd love to see how other classes beside priests and pallies does on the p3-healing. We run holy, disc and pallie - obviously - and there's been some comments that we might benefit from exchanging one of us for a restodruid. Personally, I have no idea about this. Aside from the standard "bring the player, not the class" I honestly don't know any healers running heroics these days. My friends are either only healing on their alts, or they went casual and only pug normals once in a while. I guess it's time to look up those forums, see if they know something. It's an interesting question, if nothing else. I'd also like to find out if other priests use their Divine Hymn at this phase or not - if it's viable, I guess it depends on the amount of dps your raid can put out but I have no idea where this line would be, if there is one. Ideas, anyone?

Tailoring: okay, so I CAN make money on it, it just requires me to spend a lot more time than I want online, keeping tabs on the AH. But it's nice to know it's possible, so paying back what I owe to the roomie will go faster now.

Language deserting me. Stringing together sentences takes embarassingly amounts of brainactivity, so I guess I should get some shut-eye. Dragon Age grabbed me, as it has so many others, and it seems I'm too busy getting into Alistair's pants to do much else these days.**

*Well, technically it's not really midnight. I know a lot of people that has to get up in about an hour, but I don't start early tuesday. Luckily.

**And L4D2 will be out in a few hours. I do believe we're entering a couple of weeks where it'll mainly be raidlogs when it comes to WoW, and where school is lucky if I remember it exist. At least I'm no longer high on Aion...

Confessions of a Showaholic

I'm sorry I didn't do my dailies today.

I tried, I really did. I logged on, and I picked up most of the quests. I even started fishing for the Bloated Monsterbelly!

I know I need the gold. I know I need to have enoughg old for gems and enchants when I get my next upgrade, but I still have ten flasks and twenty manapots, surely I can skip one day?

See, I had a visitor last week, and I didn't get to catch up on all my shows. I didn't get to laugh at Sheldon, or swoon over Richard Castle, and most importantly: I didn't get to see how things are going in Sons of Anarchy. And today I realized there were not just one, but two episodes waiting for me. I had to watch them. I just had to, there was no choice involved. It's not my fault I suffer from a life-long obsession with bikes, and the guys riding them.

There was no raid. Most people were too busy for heroics. The only ones I hurt by not doing my dailies are my roomie and myself.

I'm sorry. I swear I'll do them tomorrow...

...after I finish watching the two newest episodes of Supernatural, that is.
